WINFIELD —It was a tough doubleheader for the Winfield-Mt. Union baseball team on Tuesday. The Wolves were 10-run ruled twice by Keota, falling 12-1 and 16-2.
Keota scored the first 12 runs of game one. They put up three runs in the first, one each in the second and third, six in the fourth and one in the fifth. The Wolves scored one in the fifth inning to cut the lead to 11.
The Eagles scored the first 16 runs of game two. They put up one each in the first and second innings, three in the third, five in the fourth and six in the fifth to take a 16-0 lead. W-MU put up two in the runs but that wasn’t enough to keep the game going.
W-MU is now 1-21 on the season. They’ll be back at home tonight (Tuesday) for their final home game of the year. They’ll host Iowa Mennonite in a SEISC crossover.
