Did you grow up in Mt. Pleasant? Yes, I did. I was born here.
How long have you been playing basketball? Probably since fourth grade.
You’re still just a junior, but do you have any plans for after high school? Yeah. I want to go to the University of Houston.
Pretty far down there, why? I have a lot of family there, and I just really like the city.
You come from a pretty big basketball family. How many of your family members have played organized basketball? Probably just four actually. Just my immediate family.
Are any of them your favorite to play one-on-one or horse with? Definitely Jordan. He played in college.
So because he’s so good, right? Yep!
Do you have a favorite basketball memory from your time at Mt. Pleasant? Probably my freshman year. All the seniors were just so fun to play with. They were always joking around in practice, and we had a really good season.
If you could recommend a TV show to our readers, what show would you recommend? Fresh Prince of Bel Air. That’s a really good show. I’ve always watched that.
I wonder if you were born before the last episode of that show came out. Probably not!
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Probably pizza. You can never go wrong with pizza.
What toppings? Taco or sausage.
Do you have any irrational fears? I’m not sure…I’m big on needles, and spiders…just bugs.
Are you one of those people where you see a spider in your room and run out and have somebody else kill it? Yes! Definitely.
If you could be an animal, what animal would you be? Probably a lion. They’re just like, the king of the jungle.
Would you be a nice lion or would you just like, attack people? Nice, I would like to think.
Are you a morning person or a night person? Night, definitely. I do not like getting up early.
Do you guys have morning practice every once in a while? Not that much this year, but last year we did like every Wednesday. That really sucked.
How early did you have to wake up for those? Well, practice was at like, 6 a.m., and sometimes we would have weights at like, 5:30 a.m. I did not like that.
Favorite cellphone app? Probably Snapchat or Instagram
Who is the hardest of your teammates to guard? Probably Maddie (Williamson). She’s fast, and has handles.
Out of all your teammates, who is the most competitive? Probably Emma Rugg. She’s on the bench cheering everyone on. She gets really into it.
If you could hang out with one celebrity for a day, who would it be? Will Smith. He has a really fun life.
What would you guys do? I don’t know … just anything really. He does a lot of stuff.
Would you make him sing the Fresh Prince of Bel Air song? Oh yeah, for sure.
What if you could pick a superpower to have? I would want to fly, so I don’t have to pay for gas.
Would you fly anywhere exotic? Yeah! Like all over the world. That’d be fun.
Who has been your favorite teacher? Mrs. Beasley. She’s pretty funny.
Any shout outs? Shout out to Lydia (Stewart) because she’s so funny. She’s always been one of my favorite teammates. I’ve played with her since like, fifth grade. It’s always been fun.
