KEOKUK — The Mt. Pleasant girls’ golf team was in Keokuk on Monday for the Southeast Conference tournament. The Panthers took second with a final stroke count of 374, falling to Washington (362), and beating Keokuk (480) and Fairfield (no score).

Anni Liechty was the top Panther on the day, finishing out at 85. That put her third overall, behind Washington’s Kiki Guo (78) and Josie Tanner (82).

Mt. Pleasant had three of the top six players. Michal Wohlleber took fifth, with a 93, and Elli Liechty finished at 96 for sixth.

Melody Miller was the fourth Panther scorer, ending the day at 100. Alex Gerling shot a 120, and Grace Scheetz was right behind Gerling with a 121.

Mt. Pleasant will now turn its attention to the regional golf meet in DeWitt. That tournament is scheduled for Monday, May 20, and will decide who advances on to the state meet.
