Mother nature does not want Mt. Pleasant and New London to play a game of softball. The consistent rain throughout Wednesday postponed the Panthers and Tigers for the second time this year.
The Panthers and Tigers were originally scheduled to play on June 5, but the game had to be bumped to this week due to New London’s makeup date with Danville. That set the two sqauds up for a doubleheader in Mt. Pleasant on Wednesday. Both games were moved back due to the inclement weather.
There hasn’t been a makeup date set for either of the two games that were postponed.
These weren’t the only recent Mt. Pleasant vs. New London softball games to be postponed. In 2017-18, game two of the scheduled two-game set was posponed and eventually cancelled. The two sqads haven’t been able to play since June 6, 2018.
Mt. Pleasant has won six of their last seven games, and the Panthers are currently ranked 15th in the Class 4A rankings. They’ll take on Burlington in a road doubleheader on Friday, June 21.
New London is trying to bounce back after losing their last seven games. The Tigers will hit the road to play Iowa Mennonite on Friday, June 21.
