WASHINGTON -- The Mt. Pleasant junior varsity boys’ team pulled out a thrilling double overtime win in Washington last Firday, Jan. 4. Mt. Pleasant took that game 59-51 in the second OT.
Mt. Pleasant tied the game up in the final seconds of regulation when Chase Williamson was fouled on a shot right when the clock hit zero. He hit both free throws to send the game to overtime.
Avery Scandridge led the Panthers to a key defensive stand in the first overtime to send the game into the second extra period. Mt. Pleasant ran away with the win in the second OT to move to 4-0 in the conference.
Jack Johnson had 18 points and six rebounds in the win. Williamson finished with 11 points, three rebounds and a steal. Konnor Peterson had seven points, three rebounds and a steal, and Brevin Wilson finished with five points, three rebounds and two steals.
