Freshman boys beat Fairfield

FAIRFIELD — The Mt. Pleasant freshman boys took care of business in a Southeast Conference matchup with Fairfield on Friday night. The Panthers led 17-14 at halftime and pulled away in the second half, 48-35.

Sam Jerrel had 24 points in the win. Dewon Trent finished the night with 14. Dylon Hagans had eight points. Dalton Church and Andrew Holkamp scored two apiece.

The Panther freshman girls lost their game 57-23. Nicole HIll had six points in the loss, and Savana Walls finished the night with five.

Both freshman teams will be in action on Friday, Dec. 7, as Mt. Pleasant hosts Keouk in girls’ basketball and travels to Keokuk for the boys’ games.
