8th grade girls split with Keokuk

The Panther eighth-grade girls split with Keokuk on Thursday, Nov. 8. Mt. Pleasant took the “A” game 32-22, but fell in the “B” game, 8-6.

The Panthers would start off hot in the “A” game, heading into the second quarter with a 14-2 lead. Mt. Pleasant led after every quarter.

Keokuk made a little run to cut the lead to 25-20 after three quarters, but Mt. Pleasant pulled away late.

Chelsea Herrick led the way for the Panthers with 11 points, Andre Lopreato right behind her with 9, Tristan Shull finished with 6, Kate Schimmelpfenning with 4, and Jema Settles with 2.

The Mt. Pleasant “A” team would improve to 4-0 after the 10-point win Thursday.

The “B” team however would fall to Keokuk by a score of 8-6. The teams were tied 2-2 at halftime and 4-4 after three quarters.

Meena Deesawasmon, Jordan Crooks, and Isabella Meador all scored 2 points for the Panthers in their home loss.

The “B” team is now 1-3 on the season.
