Music on Main is kicking off their first event of the summer by celebrating agriculture.
The family-friendly event will have music, food, pedal tractor pulling, games and more on Friday, June 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. in Central Park.
“It kicks off the weekend,” said Lisa Oetken, director of Main Street Mt. Pleasant. “People can come and relax. They’re not thinking about going to work the next day. It really has turned into a wonderful family event with a beautiful backdrop of Central Park.”
Henry County Pork Producers and Henry County Cattlemen will be serving food Friday night, which promises to be very “yummy,” Oetken said.
Registration for the pedal tractor pull begins at 5:30 p.m., with the event starting around 6 p.m. There will be other kids’ games such as a bouncy house and large jenga.
The band for Friday night — The Boys — should be great, Oetken said.
“They’re really trending right now,” she said.
Financial institutions will be hosting games and informational booths. Oetken said that these institutions work with farmers every day and are happy to support Music on Main: Celebrating Agriculture.
“Bring your lawn chair and come and enjoy,” Oetken said. “We’re praying for good weather.”
Event sponsors are Henry County Farm Bureau, Beck’s Hybrid Seed, Community 1st Credit Union, Pilot Grove Savings Bank, Two Rivers Bank & Trust, Wayland State Bank, U.S. Bank, Farm Credit Services of America, 5 Star Community Credit Union and Quality Equipment.
The next Music on Main is Music on Main Car Cruz on Friday, July 12, and Music on Main on Friday, July 26.
