Dangerously cold temps keep carriers in

The News to deliver Wednesday's edition a day late

Subscribers to the Mt. Pleasant News will see their Wednesday paper a day later due to dangerously cold temperatures.

As the National Weather Service is predicting temperatures as low as -12 on Wednesday, Jan. 30, with wind chill values dropping to -50, The News has decided to keep its carriers at home and out of the cold. The News will publish a paper on Wednesday, but the distribution of the Wednesday paper will be delayed by one day. Wednesday’s edition will be delivered with Thursday’s paper.

“Our goal each day is to deliver quality news to our subscribers, but our concern, first and foremost, is with the safety of our carriers,” said Publisher Matt Bryant.

Wednesday’s edition of The News will be available online and in e-edition form. Papers can be picked up in the newsroom and will be available on business’ racks later in the afternoon.
