Are you originally from Mt. Pleasant/Henry County? If not, what brought you here? Our family moved to Mt. Pleasant from Des Moines in 1997. We relocated for an employment opportunity for my husband, Brian.
What is your favorite part of living here? Mt. Pleasant offers a wide variety of opportunities to volunteer and be actively involved in the community.
What is your favorite local hangout? I enjoy spending time at home and when the weather cooperates, sitting on our deck.
What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy traveling and following the Iowa State Cyclone football and basketball teams.
Is there an annual event in Mt. Pleasant that you enjoy? I enjoy the InMotion Show Choir Invitational, the First Presbyterian Church?s annual spaghetti supper, the Marching Band Extravaganza and Festival of Lights.
Is there something Mt. Pleasant doesn?t have that you would like to see? I would like to see a fine dining restaurant in town.
What is your favorite summertime activity? During the summer, I like to listen to the Boston Red Sox games, take walks on the bike path around East Lake and the high school, and when possible, travel to Colorado.
What do you think is a Mt. Pleasant trademark? The fountain in Central Park.
What is one dish or drink that reminds you of Mt. Pleasant? Jerry?s taco pizza and the French onion soup the Iris Restaurant served.
Tell us something interesting about yourself. I?m a very proud Iowa State Alum, I really enjoy decorating for Christmas, and I have had the opportunity to travel to all 50 states.
