Are you originally from Henry County? If not, what brought you here? Yes, I am originally from Henry County. Born in Mt. Pleasant.
What is your favorite part of living here? My favorite part of living here (born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, but a current resident of New London) is that it is a smaller, proud area of people and their communities that are very supportive of our Veterans and our family values.
What is your favorite local hangout? At my age, my favorite ?hangout? would be at high school sporting events, and at Deerwood Golf Course.
What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy supporting my community athletic teams, golfing, hunting and fishing, and spending time with my family and friends.
Is there an annual event in Henry County that you enjoy? I enjoy the annual Old Threshers Reunion, and the County Fair.
Is there something Henry County doesn?t have that you?d like to see? I would like to see a winter, indoor golf simulator league and a full scale waterpark.
What is your favorite winter activity? My favorite winter activity is attending basketball games and hunting.
What do you think is Henry County?s trademark? I believe Henry County?s trademark is connected to the Old Threshers Reunion.
What?s one dish or drink that reminds you of Henry County? There is nothing like the tenderloins at Butch?s River Rock Café and The Shortstop.
Tell us something interesting about you? As a former Mayor of New London, I played a role in the idea of bringing a Veteran?s Memorial to our town and had the honor of speaking to two different groups of World War II Veterans going on their Honor Tours.
