Wolves, Tigers win in five sets, Warriors fall

The three Henry County small schools all had conference games on Tuesday, and the county went 2-1 on the day with a couple of close wins. New London and Winfield-Mt. Union both won in five sets. WACO lost in three.


The Tigers scored a comeback win over rival Danville at home after being down 2-1 in sets. New London won 25-15, 19-25, 21-25, 25-12, 15-12 to move to 9-1 overall. They suffered their only loss in a tournament last weekend.


Addie Pry and Kaylor Schulte led the Tigers in kills. Pry had 21 and Schulte finished with 19. Kristen Rohdy had an impressive 45 assists and 26 digs in the win, boht of which led the team.


W-MU won a nail-biting road game at Wapello, taking it 25-22, 22-25, 25-8, 22-25, 15-7.


Jenna Buffington had 15 kills to lead the way. Kayla Edwards finished with 26 assists and Kyndal Townsley had 18 digs. The Wolves finished the night with 21 aces, seven of which came from Jami Wilkerson.


WACO fell at home to West Burlington. The Warriors were defeated 25-9, 25-20 and 25-16.


Morgan Graber led WACO with eight kills. Aubri Garnsey finished the day with 23 digs, and Laney Graber had 19 assists.
