Wolves take down IMS, Lone Tree

LONE TREE ? The Winfield-Mt. Union softball team picked up a couple of SEISC North Division wins last week. The Wolves beat up on Iowa Mennonite 7-2 on Tuesday, June 5, and made it two conference wins in a row with a 5-1 win at Lone Tree on Thursday, June 7.

Madie Anderson sailed through the IMS game, giving up just two earned runs on three hits and no walks, while striking out 12 batters over her seven innings of work.

Maci Richardson went 1-4 with rwo RBIs and a run in the win. Carlee Sloan was 2-4 with an RBI. Kyndal Townsley was 1-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Anderson went 1-4. Jobey Malone, Molly Miller and Dakota Haines each had an RBI.

Anderson had yet another fantastic outing in the circle on Thursday. She gave up just one unearned run on three hits and one walk, while striking out 18 batters over seven innings.

Miller had a monster game, going deep twice in the win. She finished 2-3 with two home runs, three RBIs and two runs scored. Townsley went 2-4 with a double, an RBI and a run. Richardson was 0-3 with an RBI and a run scored and Jami Wilkerson went 2-3 with a double and a run scored.

The Wolves will be back in action tonight (Monday) when they head to Louisa-Muscatine for a 7 p.m. showdown.
