Winfield Historical Society receives grant

WINFIELD ? On Thursday, May 17, the Winfield Historical Society was awarded a grant of $4,415 by the Washington County Riverboat Foundation for new carpet in the Winfield museum.

The grant was written by Lisa Rees and presented at the Riverside Casino. Board members present were Judy Rawson, Deb Conrad, Bard Long, Carol Klopfenstein and Lisa Rees.

The project will consist of removal of the old carpet and replacing with new. The project cost is $5,414. On April 11, the Winfield City Council voted to support the project with a $500 donation.

The carpet will be purchased and installed by Marshall?s Furniture and Flooring in Washington. Plans are to have the new carpet in place by Winfield Crooked Creek Days, Aug. 3-5.

The museum will be open during Crooked Creek Days and everyone is invited to come see the new renovations.
