WAYLAND ? The WACO volleyball team started the season 6-1 but the Warriors have hit a mid-season slide. WACO dropped a SEISC South Division match against Central Lee on Tuesday night, falling in four sets.
Central Lee had WACO?s back against the wall after winning the first two sets. The Hawks took both set one and set two by the score of 25-19, and the Warriors were in danger of a sweep.
WACO showed some grit in the third set to take it 25-21. That cut the Hawks? lead to 2-1 overall heading into the fourth set.
Unfortunately for the Warriors, Central Lee saved their best for last. The Hawks took the fourth set 25-14 in the only double-digit game of the night.
Morgan Graber had a nice night hitting the ball, despite the loss. Graber led WACO with nine kills.
Clara Schmitz had five kills in the loss. Lona Farrier finished the day with four kills, and Nadiyah Brown, Kristen Conley, Aubri Garnsey, Laney Graber and Ellie Miles all had one.
L. Graber had all 21 of WACO?s assists on the night. Garnsey had 21 digs to lead the squad.
Lindsey Roth and L. Graber each went 12-12 serving. Quinn Scarff was 11-11. Both Roth and Molly McLaughlin had three kills.
