FT. MADISON ? The WACO boys used a strong start to pick up an SEISC South Division win at Holy Trinity on Friday night. The Warriors won the boys? game 64-52, but fell in the girls? game, 63-35.
The boys? team scored 20 points in the first quarter to take a 20-9 lead into the second period. WACO outscored HTC by one point in the final three quarters and got out with the 12-point win.
Colton Horak had 12 points to lead the Warriors. Nik Coble had 10 points and 16 rebounds. Conner Eichelberger had nine and Braden Hammond scored eight.
Drew Kissell and Calvin Battle scored seven points apiece in the win. Beau Beckler had six points. Elijah McGohan had three and Jacob Fried scored two.
The girls? team held a two-point lead, at 23-21, when the halftime buzzer sounded. The Warriors went ice cold in the second half, however. HTC outscored WACO 27-1 in the third quarter to blow the game wide open, and never looked back.
Kiana Miller had nine points to lead the team. Aubri Garnsey had eight. Nadiyah Brown scored seven. Grace Conwell had three. Kristen Conelly, Laney Graber and Maysan Lee had two points apiece and the duo of Morgan Graber and Clara Schmitz had one each.
