W-MU softball team falls at Wapello

WAPELLO ?The Winfield-Mt. Union softball team lost a SEISC North Division game 4-1 on Tuesday night against Wapello. It was just the second loss of the season for W-MU.

The Wolves led 1-0 after 2.5 innings, but the Arrows tied the game up in the bottom of the third. The Arrows took the lead with one run in the fourth inning and tacked on two in the fifth.

Madie Anderson took the loss on the mound, giving up four runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings of work.

The Wolves only had three hits in the loss. Molly Miller had the only extra-base hit of the night for W-MU, with a double.

The Wolves fell to 2-3 with the loss. They will be back at home tonight (Friday) where they will take on Columbus Community. That game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
