WINFIELD ? The Winfield-Mt. Union boys played what was perhaps their best game of the season on Tuesday night, knocking off Pekin 52-43 in overtime.
B.J. Rodgers had another big game, hitting five three-pointers in the win to lead the team with 27 points. Daunte Oepping scored seven points. Cody McCreight had six. Christian Gerot scored five. Jared Arnold had three and both Mitchell Neibuhr and Bryant Holtkamp finished with two.
The Pekin girls topped the Lady Wolves in the first game of the night. W-MU trailed 8-5 after one quarter, 24-13 at halftime and 45-29 after three quarters before eventually falling by the final score of 51-34.
Jami Wilkerson hit three shots from down town to lead the team with nine points. Karley Schlee had six points and three assists. Allie McCartor scored six points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Lexee Hartsock had five points and three blocked shots, and both Lauren Jamison and Kyndal Townsley ended the night with four points.
