Vehicle snaps utility pole

A utility pole on N. Cherry St. was damaged following a single-vehicle accident on Friday.


The Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to a collision in the 400 block of N. Cherry St. on Friday, June 22 at approximately 2:05 p.m. Upon investigation, police determined William Copeland, of Mt. Pleasant, was operating a 2002 GMC Yukon, owned by Michael and Sandra Vantiger, of Mt. Union, when he lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway, striking the utility pole.


No injuries were reported at the scene. The total estimated damage was $7,000. Copeland was cited for failure to maintain control.


The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was assisted by the Mt. Pleasant Utility Company and Breuer Towing and Recovery.
