The United States Collegiate Athletic Association announced the Baseball and Softball National All-Academic Team award winners on Sunday, May 13 at the All-American Championship banquet which was held in DuBois, Penn. Iowa Wesleyan University had eleven individuals earn honors for the 2017-18 season.
The Iowa Wesleyan baseball team had seven members make the list. They were Austin Christian, Tyler Cooksey, Nick Fencl, Parker Leland, Matthew Murphy, Alex Payne, and Michael Rojas. These seven individuals were among eighty-nine total student-athletes on the USCAA Baseball National All-Academic list.
Four individuals represented the Iowa Wesleyan softball team this season on the National All-Academic team. They were Julie Dodd Sheridan Gealow, Samantha McIlwain and Sydnee Stalker. There were a total of 104 student-athletes representing softball on the National All-Academic list this spring.
In order to earn USCAA National All-Academic honors, individuals must have a 3.5 grade point average or higher, and be a least a sophomore at their institution. To see the full list of award winners, visit www.theuscaa.com.
