Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Mapleleaf Dr. and Grand Ave. on Friday, Dec. 15.
At 5:06 p.m., the Mt. Pleasant Police Department was dispatched to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Mapleleaf Dr. and Grand Ave.
Upon investigation, it was determined that a 2003 Pontiac, operated by Patricia Walker, had been traveling west on Mapleleaf Dr. Walker had stopped at the flashing red light on Mapleleaf Dr. and Grand Ave. At the same time, Connie Butcher, driving a 2017 Ford Explorer, traveling south on Grand Ave., stopped at the flashing red lights.
Walker, having the right of way, then entered the intersection. Butcher, having not seen the 2003 Pontiac, also entered the intersection. Butcher struck the Walker vehicle on the passenger side, totaling both vehicles.
No injuries were reported. Butcher was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
