Two-vehicle collision Thursday, no injuries

Mt. Pleasant police officers were called to the intersection of W. Washington Street and S. Jefferson Street following a two-vehicle collision Thursday, July 12 at 2:32 p.m.


Phyllis Rich, of Mt. Pleasant, was driving north on Jefferson Street approaching Washington Street when she failed to stop at a red light and tried to turn right. She struck the rear passenger corner of Gregorio Martinez vehicle, which was driving eastbound on Washington Street in the outside lane.


Rich was driving a 2014 Silver GMC Terrain SUV. Martinez was driving a 2001 Ford Windstar Van owned by Graciela Martinez. Damage to the vehicle is estimated to be $3,000.


Martinez had no driver?s license and will be cited. Rich ran a red traffic light and will be cited.


There were no injuries.
