Steve Litchfield has accepted an invitation to preach at the ecumenical worship service in the Family Tent at 10 a.m. Sunday during the Old Threshers Reunion. His message is titled ?Harvesting Faith and Forgiveness.?
Litchfield is a large-animal veterinarian by training, and has also answered a call to Christian ministry. He earned the MDiv from Trinity Divinity School, and a DMin from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He served 10 years as a pastor in Elkader, before moving to Mt. Pleasant where he helped plant Wellspring Evangelical Free Church. Currently he serves as an elder at Harmony Bible Church south of Danville, and is an extension teacher with Iowa Wesleyan. He enjoys teaching and preaching.
Litchfield and his wife, Cindy, a public health nurse for Henry County, are the parents of two children, David and Elizabeth. The Litchfields make their home in Mt. Pleasant.
The Family Tent hosts a variety of entertainment during the annual reunion. Sunday morning, it is the location for the Roman Catholic Mass at 9 a.m., the ecumenical worship at 10 a.m. followed by the Sweet Sixteen Crowning at 11 a.m.
