Semi strikes tree, causes $10K in damage

A semi was left with an estimated $10,000 worth of damage after striking a tree on Thursday, March 8.


According to reports, the Mt. Pleasant Police Department was notified that a semi had struck a tree in the 100 block of W. Henry St., at approximately 4:13 p.m.


Upon investigation, the police department determined that a 2015 Volvo, operated by Robert Roberts, of Davenport, was making a left-hand turn at the intersection of Main St., and Henry St. In doing so, he struck a tree on the north side of the road.


Damage to the Roberts? vehicle was estimated at $10,000. There were no injuries reported at the scene.
