Panthers take second place in Ft. Madison

FT. MADISON ? The Mt. Pleasant boys? golf team was in Ft. Madison on Friday, May 7, for a Southeast Conference triangular with Washington and the hosting Bloodhounds.

Washington won the meet with a 159. Mt. Pleasant was just nine strokes back at 168, and Ft. Madison ended the day 12 strokes behind the Panthers with a 180.

Trace White led the Panthers with a 39, which tied for third place overall. Jake Moffett finished the day at 42. Bailey Shelledy shot a 43 and Brevin Wilson rounded out the team?s scorers with a 44.

Austin Buckert finished the day at 47 for the fifth-best Panther score. Rhett Zeglen ended his round at 48.

The Panther boys will be back in action on Tuesday, May 8, at the SEC meet in Keokuk. That meet will begin at 9 a.m. Two days later, on Thursday, May 10, the Panthers will take part in the sectional tournament at Flint Hills Golf Course in Burlington. That meet will begin at 10 a.m.
