Panther JV football team falls in Washington

WASHINGTON ? The Mt. Pleasant junior varsity football team traveled to Washington on Monday evening for a game against rival Washington. The Demons held off the Panthers 20-12.

Orin Cantu had 144 yards on 25 carries to lead the offense in the loss. He also had two catches for nine yards. Brennan Bender had seven carries for 52 yards.

Brody Bender was 8-22 for 103 yards passing, one touchdown and one interception. Brevin Wilson had two catches for 51 yards and a score to lead the receivers.

Avery Scandridge led the defense with nine tackles. Mitchell Trexel had 7.5 tackles. Hoang Mai had 5.5 tackles, and Wilson finished the night with two interceptions.
