Panther boys? tennis team falls

The Mt. Pleasant boys? tennis team had a rough time on Tuesday night against a stacked West Burlington-Notre Dame team. The Panthers fell 7-2 in their non-conference contest, falling to 4-3 overall this season.


Mt. Pleasant lost five of their six singles matches, but their lone win was a sweep. Ethan Weber took the No. 1 singles match 8-0. Corbin Broeker fell 8-2 in the No. 2 match, and Jaxon Hoyle dropped the No. 3 match 8-0.


Elijah Plooster suffered a tight 8-6 loss in the No. 4 singles match. JacK Schimmelpfennig lost the No. 5 match 8-3, and Donny Arledge fell 8-1 in the No. 6 match.


The Panthers took one of the three doubles matches. Hoyle and Weber won the No. 2 match 8-2. Broeker and Hoyle fell 8-1 in the No. 2 doubles match and Plooster and Arledge fell 8-1 in the No. 3 match.


Mt. Pleasant will have another challenge on Thursday, April 26 when they take to the courts again. They?ll be on the road to play Maharishi High School in Fairfield in a meet beginning at 4:30 p.m.
