Panther boys? soccer team falls at Central Lee

DONNELLSON ? The Mt. Pleasant boys? soccer team fell 3-2 to Central Lee in non-conference action on Tuesday.

The Panthers held an early 1-0 lead when Jadyn Vongsavath broke the scoreless tie. He took an assist from David Blancas and knocked in the first goal of the game.

Central Lee responded with three straight goals. The Hawks got two scores from Blake Wyrick and added one from Seth Mayes. The third goal made it 3-1, where it would stay until the final minutes.

The Panthers were able to cut the Central Lee lead to one goal late in the second half. Vongsavath picked up his second score of the game and the lead was down to 3-2.

Unfortunately for Mt. Pleasant, time ran out before the Panthers could tie the game up, giving Central Lee the victory and dropping the Panthers to 10-6 on the season.

Mt. Pleasant has one more game left in the regular season. The Panthers will host Danville on Thursday, May 17, in a contest beginning at 4:30 p.m.
