Officers investigate accident, make arrest

Henry County Sheriff?s deputies investigated a vehicle/deer accident and made an arrest Oct. 17.

A deputy responded to a call at approximately 1:41 a.m. of a vehicle/deer accident in the 2200 grid of Salem Road.

Upon arriving, it was determined that a 1999 Dodge Ram, operated by Robert Dunn, Ft. Madison, was traveling west on Salem Road and struck a deer in the roadway.

Damage was estimated at $4,000 to the vehicle. No one was injured in the collision.

At approximately 5:46 a.m., Oct. 17, a deputy was sent to the Salem Stub for a report of a vehicle parked suspiciously close to the building with a male subject inside.

During the investigation, it was determined that the owner and driver of the vehicle, Sergio Victoria Aguilar, 41, Ottumwa, fell asleep in his vehicle.

Aguilar was subsequently arrested on an outstanding warrant from Washington County and transported to the Henry County Jail.
