NEW LONDON ? Britt Noel went start to finish with a two-hit shutout on Tuesday night as the ninth-ranked New London baseball team blanked Holy Trinity Catholic 3-0 in SEISC South Division play.
The Tigers won their eighth game in a row and their first since climbing into the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association top 10 rankings earlier this week.
The game was scoreless for the first three innings but New London finally came through in the bottom of the fourth. The Tigers added two runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 3-0 lead, and that?s where it would stay.
Keontae Luckett went 2-3 in the win. Mason Porter was 1-2 with two RBIs and a run scored. Javis Krieger went 1-3 with an RBI, and both Britt Noel and Sam Loyd went 1-3 with a run scored.
Noel gave up just two hits and two walks during his seven shut out innings. He struck out four batters in the complete-game win.
