No. 10 MP takes home triangular by one stroke

The Mt. Pleasant girls had to use every last shot to hold off Muscatine in their home Triangular on Friday. The 10th-ranked Panthers won the meet with a score of 203, nipping Muscatine?s 204. Burlington finished third with a score of 262.


Anni Liechty led the way for Mt. Pleasant with a score of 43, which was good enough for individual runner-up honors. Elli Liechty finished the meet at 49 to give the Panthers a second sub-50 score.


Tori Witthoft finished the meet with a 52. Michal Wohlleber shot a 59. Grace Scheetz scored a 62. Ryann Davidson shot a 64 and Melody Miller rounded out the Panthers with a 70.


Mt. Pleasant will be back in action today (Monday) at 4 p.m. They will host conference rivals No. 1 Washington and Fairfield. This will be a stacked week for the MP girls, who host Keokuk and Oskaloosa on Tuesday, April 24, and host their home invitational on Friday, April 27.
