MORAVIA ? Another dominant performance led to a second-straight win for the New London football team on Friday night. The Tigers thrashed Moravia in their own house, beating them 42-0 in their first road game of the season.
It was the running game that got the job done early. Keontae Luckett scored the first two touchdowns, a 57-yard score and a six-yard score. Isaac McSorley rushed for a four-yard touchdown later in the period and all three of Roberto Carrillo?s extra point attempts were good, bringing the lead to 21-0 after one quarter.
McSorley led the team on two touchdown drives in the second quarter. He found Mason Porter with a 25-yard touchdown pass to make it 28-0 and punched in the final score of the first half with a one-yard rush. At the break, it was all New London, 35-0.
The Tigers eased up on the offense in the second half but still pushed through one more score. Jordan Johnson found the end zone on a seven-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter.
Luckett finished the game with 103 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Johnson ran for 44 yards and a score. Shae Summerfield had 30 yards on the ground and Darius Whaley had 25.
McSorley finished the game 5-6 for 81 passing yards and a touchdown to go along with his two scores on the ground. Porter was the leading reciever with two catches for 43 yards and a touchdown.
Summerfield led the defense with six tackles in the win. Johnson and Marcel Lopez each finished with four. Whaley had the team?s only takeaway of the game with a fumble recovery.
