New London boys cruise past Crusaders at home

NEW LONDON ? The New London boys? golf team hosted Holy Trinity at Deerwood Golf Course on Tuesday evening. The Tigers toppled the Crusaders 180-209, sweeping the top three individual spots in the process.


Clayton Phillips led the way for New London, finishing with the only sub-40 score. He finished at 39 to lead the Tigers to victory.


Justin Carter was five-strokes behind Phillips for the runner-up medal. He shot a 44. Alex Dentlinger was three stokes behind him with a 47.


Gabe Carter rounded out the New London scorers with a 50. Gavin Prottsman scored a 52 and Tyler Henecke finished the day with a 63.


Holy Trinity was led by Collin Thornton, who scored a 48. Kyle Bredemeyer scored a 52 and Josh Barr finished out at 53.


Cole Thornton and Mason Holvdet scored 56 apiece for the Crusaders. Conrad Hellman was the sixth HTC player on the scoreboard with a 78.


New London will take on HTC once again on Thursday, April 12 in Ft. Madison. The boys? and girls? teams will both be in action. That meet will begin at 4 p.m.
