NEW LONDON ? The New London boys? basketball team got sweet revenge against rival Danville on Tuesday night after a nail-biting loss the last time the two teams played.
The Tigers jumped out to double-digit lead in the first quarter and never looked back, rolling over the Bears 70-48.
Isaac McSorley had a monster day, leading the team with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Grant Swanson had 13 points and three blocked shots. Alex Dentlinger and Jalen Birdsell scored 10 points apiece. Keontae Luckett finished with nine points and four steals, and Mason Porter had eight points and a team-leading seven assists.
The girls? team stayed in it in the first half but Danville ran away with a 63-17 win. The Tigers trailed 9-7 after one quarter and 20-9 at halftime before the Bears busted out a 43-8 second half advantage.
Savannah Sutherland scored five points in the loss. Laney Loyd had four points, four steals and two blocked shots. Alexa Wenger had two points and five rebounds, and the trio of Kristen Rohdy, Kara Krieger and Peyton Jackson had two points each.
