DONNELLSON ? The New London baseball team picked up two road wins in two days on Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, the Tigers took down Mediapolis 6-1. They followed that up with a 7-5 win over Central Lee in 10 innings on Thursday.
In Wednesday?s win at Mediapolis, New Liondon scored one run in the first inning, three in the third, one in the seventh. The lone Bulldog run came in the third.
Isaac McSorley picked up the win on the mound, throwing a complete game and giving up just one earned run on seven hits, while striking out five batters. McSorley also went 1-4 with a triple and an RBI at the plate.
Mason Porter went 2-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Jax Boyer was 2-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Noel and Sam Loyd combined for the win on Thursday. Noel pitched four innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits and one walk, while striking out four batters. Loyd threw six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits, while striking out four.
McSorley had a big night at the plate, going 3-5 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Loyd was 2-6 with two RBIs. Boyer was 2-5 with an RBI. Noel and Shae Summerfield each knocked one runner in during the win.
