Mt. Pleasant Middle School girls run in Ft. Madison

FT. MADISON ? The Mt. Pleasant Middle School track and field teams were in Ft. Madison on Wednesday, May 2. Both teams came away with three wins on the night.

Audrey Lord won two events for the seventh-grade Panthers. Lord took the 800-meter run in 2:57.31, and took the 1500-meter run with the time of 5:52.68. Kylee Coleman picked up a win in the field, throwing the discus 72-10.

Andrea Lopreato took second in the 100-meter hurdles for the seventh-grade Panthers, crossing the tape in 20.02 seconds. The shuttle hurdle team of Tristan Shull, Jayden Housh, Mica Carter and Lopreato took second as well, finishing in 1:23.59.

The seventh-graders finished third in three relay events. The 4X100 team of Shull, Lopreato, Carter and Makenzie Musselman took third in 1:01.66. The 4X400 team of Kali Barnett, Andrea Barriors, Chloe Ward and Izabelle Yoder placed third in 5:20.87, and the 4x800 squad of Yoder, Eva Rounceville, Maleena Syvalong and Isabelle Meador placed third in 13:12.77.

Jenna Gilmore won the 100-meter hurdles for the eighth-grade Panthers. The shuttle hurdle team of Jenna Gilmore, Abby Blint, Thanh Phung and Kenna Lamm picked up a win, and Jadan Brumbaugh won the shot put.

The eighth-graders had four second-place finishes. Lamm took second in the 400-meter dash and the 200-meter hurdles. The 4X100 team of Ralyn Seberg, Mya Randall, Phung and Allison Elmore placed second, as did the distance medley team of Clare Schnicker, Randall, Seberg and Rayanna Jennings.

The eighth-graders also had a handful of third place finishes. Elmore had two of her own, finishing third in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash.

Monroe Swain took third in the 800-meter run. Gilmore finished third in the 200-meter hurdles. The 4X400 team of Abby West, Marie Sitar, Alyssa Dascher and Kahlia Parrish picked up a third-place finish. The sprint medley team of Gisele Fajardo-Pena, Randall, Schnicker and Seberg took third, as did Brumbaugh in the dicus.
