Mt. Pleasant eighth-grade boys top Ft. Madison

The Mt. Pleasant eighth-grade boys grinded out a couple of wins against Ft. Madison on Tuesday night. The Panthers topped the Bloodhounds 39-33 in the ?A? game and 15-14 in the ?B? game.

Dewon Trent led the ?A? team to victory with 18 points. Sam Jerrel scored 13 points and Reece Kempker had five.

In the ?B? team?s win, Dalton Church led the way. He scored over half of Mt. Pleasant?s points, with eight.

The Panther ?A? team bounced back from a tough five-point loss to Keokuk on Friday. Mt. Pleasant was led by Jerrel with 18 points in the loss. Trent scored 12 and Kempker finished with six.

R.J. Dawson led the ?B? team to an 18-13 victory over the Chiefs on Friday. He scored six points, and Nolan Myers added four.

The Panthers will conclude their season on Thursday, February 22 at rival Washington. Those contests will begin at 4:30 p.m.
