MP woman OK after single-vehicle accident

A Mt. Pleasant woman was OK after losing control of her vehicle and striking the concrete guard railing of the Skunk River bridge near Rome.


Rebecca Cline, of Mt. Pleasant, did not receive any life-threatening injuries after crashing her vehicle into the guard rails of the Skunk River Bridge.


The Henry County Sheriff?s Office received the report of a single-vehicle accident at approximately 6:21 a.m., on Wednesday, March 6, near the 1200 grid of U.S. Highway 34 near Rome.


According to police reports, Cline was driving a green, 2005 Chevy Malibu eastbound on Highway 34. While driving over the bridge that is located above the Skunk River, she lost control of the vehicle and struck the concrete guard railing of the bridge. Her vehicle was totaled.


Cline was given a citation for failing to maintain control of a motor vehicle.


The Henry County Sheriff?s Office was assisted by the Mt. Pleasant Fire and First Responders, Henry County Paramedics and the Iowa State Department of Transportation.


A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
