A Mt. Pleasant man was arrested after he displayed and pointed his gun at another motorist.
According to police reports, Rahkil Lee, 21, of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 26, at 4:38 p.m., after authorities were notified that a passenger in a vehicle had displayed a weapon and pointed it at another motorist.
The complaint stated the individual had been in a white four-door car that was currently parked at Fast Break gas station with four occupants in the vehicle. Officers located a white Hyundai in the parking lot of Fast Break. Upon investigation, officers found a loaded pistol inside of the vehicle. Officers also located a bag with a leafy, green material, which was later identified as marijuana.
As a result of the investigation, Lee was charged with carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor; assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdeamonr; threat of terrorism, a Class D felony; unlawful possession of a prescription drug, a serious misdeanor; and going armed with intent, a Class D felony.
Dustin Beckman, 18, of Mt. Pleasant, was also a passenger in the vehicle and was charged with possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was assisted by the Henry County Sherrif?s Office and the Iowa Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Enforcement Agency.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
