TIPTON ? The Mt. Pleasant girls? track and field team competed at the Tipton relays on Thursday, April 12, and took home a top-three finish for their troubles. The Panthers scored 71 points for third place, one behind Mid-Prairie?s 72 for second. North Cedar won the meet with 120 points.
The Panthers had two wins on the day. Maggie Cristoforo had the lone individual win, taking the 400-meter hurdles in 1:08.62. Karsyn Lamm was third in that event, crossing in 1:14.48.
The 4X800 team picked up a relay win for Mt. Pleasant. The team of Cristoforo, Abby Ryon, Maggie Jennings and Taylor Murray won the event in 10:00.76.
The Panthers had two second-place finishes. Avery Sutter took second in the 100-meter dash, crossing the tape in 13.22 seconds. Lexie Magnani picked up a silver in the shot put, throwing a 37-08.
Mt. Pleasant had two third-place finishes as well. Lyndi Vantiger took third in the long jump with a leap of 15-07. The shuttle hurdle team of Maddie Williamson, Lamm, Kalynn Batey and Serenity Keomanivong finished third in 1:09.80.
Mt. Pleasant also had a handful of fourth-place finishes. Keomanivong had the Panthers? lone individual fourth when she crossed the line in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.05 seconds.
The distance medley team of Virginia Scandridge, Kendall Dascher, Jennings and Cristina Carthey took fourth in 4:41.16. The 4X200 team of Murray, Ryon, Delaney McDowell and Cristoforo placed fourth in 1:56.19, and the 4X100 team of Dani Broeker, Batey, Vantiger and Sutter finished fourth in 52.97 seconds.
