AMES ? The Mt. Pleasant boys? track team took part in the Iowa State Indoors on Tuesday night. The Panthers walked away with four top-15 placements against a packed field of teams.
The best result of the day again went to Cody Mertens. Mertens took ninth place in the 3200-meter run, crossing the tape in just over 10 minutes, at 10:01.87.
The Panthers had two runners place in the top 15 in the 60-meter hurdle event. Chase Lamm picked up a 10th-place finish, in 8.8 seconds, and Cole Burns crossed in 8.83 seconds for 15th place.
The Mt. Pleasant Sprint Medley team of Burns, Lamm, Rylan Seberg and Kyle Vanderham picked up a top-10 finish. The Panthers were 10th place with a time of 3:46.21.
Mt. Pleasant also had a couple of runners participate in the 60-meter dash. Khang Truong finished 39th in the event, crossing the tape in 7.59 seconds. Seberg placed 51st in 7.66 seconds.
The Panther boys will be back in action on Friday, March 16 when they run at Central College in Pella. That meet is scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
The Mt. Pleasant girls will run at Central College the next day on Saturday, March 17. The girls? portion of the meet will begin at 10 a.m.
