MP boys? golf team sinks Fairfield on the road

FAIRIELD ? The Mt. Pleasant boys? golf team picked up another Southeast Conference win on Thursday, taking down rival Fairfield 171-183.


The team was led by Jake Moffett, who finished at 39 for the only sub-40 round of the night. Rhett Zeglen finished two strokes behind Moffett with a 41 to earn runner-up honors.


Trace White tied for third-place overall with a 42. Fairfield?s top golfer, Jackson Weaton, scored a 42 as well.


Brevin Wilson shot a 49 to round out the Panther scorers. Austin Buckert finished at 56, and Grant Goody scored a 58.


Fairfield?s Brad Smithburg shot a 44 for the Trojans? second best score. Aaron Haines shot a 47, and the trio of Josh Brewington, Drake Rippey and Jeremy Crile scored a 50.


The Panther boys will be at the Washington Demon invitational on Saturday, April 21. That tournament is set to start at 9 a.m.
