Louisa County Nature Camps give students outdoor education

Louisa County Conservation has a fun and educational lineup of summer nature camps that will entertain as children learn about the great outdoors.

Registration begins on Monday, April 2, at noon. Forms will be available online at the Louisa County Conservation Office or at the Louisa County public libraries. This year, participants can also pay online.

Louisa County Nature Camps provide students with positive outdoor interactions, teach kids to love the earth and get them unplugged for a few hours of outdoor fun. Camps feature nature hikes, games, activities, crafts and more. Camps are offered for children entering grades kindergarten through 8th-grade in the fall of 2018.

Unless otherwise specified, camps are held at Langwood Education Center and are limited to 12 participants. Fees vary by camp, but a T-shirt is always included. Payment and a completed registration form must be turned in to reserve a spot at camp.

Thanks to an anonymous community donor, Louisa County Conservation is offering Nature Camp Scholarships. The Scholarship Application is available online or at the Louisa County Conservation Office.

Scholarship applications are due by May 1, or until the funding has all been distributed. Please include a completed scholarship application (in lieu of payment) with a paper registration form to be considered.
