Mt. Pleasant football made quite the impact on the National Football League on Sunday afternoon, when former Panther Leonard Wester scored his first career touchdown.
The second-year offensive lineman was lined up as an eligible receiver in a jumbo set at the two-yard line. When the ball was snapped, he sprung open in the end zone and caught a pass from Jameis Winston, which helped Tampa Bay tie the game at 21-21 in the fourth quarter.
Wester?s score was a rarity in any level of football, and will surely be remembered by Buccaneers fans for quite some time. Tampa Bay did fall in the contest, 24-21, to the Detroit Lions.
