WAYLAND ? Wayland?s City Council welcomed a new member and made committee, officer and commission appointments during its regular meeting Jan. 17.
Kathie Grimm was appointed to the council to fill the vacancy created when Greg Fort resigned his seat to assume the mayoral post.
Council committee, officer and commission appointments and reappointments were as follows:
Council liaison to the city planning and zoning commission: Grimm;
Water and sewer committee: Chet Fort, Melinda Ullery and Aaron Barnhart;
Streets and parks committee: Caylon DeVaul, Fort and Ullery;
Fire and light communication: Barnhart, DeVaul and Grimm;
Gas and finance committee: Ullery, Fort and Grimm;
Garbage disposal, insurance and miscellaneous: Grimm, Barnhart and DeVaul;
Mayor pro-tem: Fort;
Clerk/central purchasing agent/zoning administrator: Beverly Conrad;
Utility/deputy clerk: Marsha Chalupa;
Treasurer: Terry Kaufman;
Health officer: Henry County Health Center;
Animal control officer: Sonja Roth;
E-911 and emergency management representative: Keith Hilderand, Mat Leichty, alternate.
In the only other agenda item, Conrad presented a preliminary summary of the fiscal 2018-2019 budget.
Wayland council members meet again in regular session Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the community building.
