Iowa Wesleyan men back in action on Saturday

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. ? The Iowa Wesleyan men?s basketball team will return to action after a 10-day break on Saturday, Jan. 30. The Tigers will take on Truman State University on the road, in Kirksville, Mo. The game is officially an exhibition game and will not count on IW?s final record.

The Tigers will enter the game 1-10 overall this season. The Tigers lost their first nine games before picking up a road win against Blackburn on Dec. 16. They lost to St. Cloud State, 111-68, three days later.

Brock Butler, was named SLIAC Player of the Week in mid-December is scoring 24.4 points per game for the Tigers. That mark is second in the conference only to Eureka College?s Shea Feehan (32.4 PPG).

Mitch Drey has been IW?s second-leading scorer so far this season. He has put up 15.9 points per game.

The Tigers will be taking on a Truman State team that sits at 5-5 this year and has went 1-2 on their home floor. It will be the last non-conference game of the year for IW.

The Tigers will have a packed schedule in January, playing nine conference games, five of which are at home. IW will play Webster University on the road on Wednesday, Jan. 3, and host Westminster College on Saturday, Jan. 6.

The women?s team will continue their break until the games against Webster and Westminster to start off 2018. The Tiger women will play before the men on both days.
