Investigation for possession, distribution of drugs ongoing in southeast Iowa

Several search warrants were executed in southeast Iowa for the possession and distribution of a controlled substance on Friday, Aug. 16.


As a result of the search warrants, illicit drugs, drug paraphernalia and an undetermined amount of currency was seized.


The Henry County Sheriff?s Office and Mt. Pleasant Police Department assisted several other law enforcement agencies in the execution of the search warrants and the ongoing investigation.


Other law enforcement agencies involved include the Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office, the Fairfield Police Department, the Wapello County Sheriff?s Office, the Ottumwa Police Department, Southeast Iowa Inner-Agency Drug Task Force, the Keokuk County Sheriff?s Office, Iowa State Patrol, the Department of Natural Resources, the Washington County Sheriff?s Office, the Monroe County Sheriff?s Office, the Department of Criminal Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.


No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
