The inclimate weather in Southeast Iowa continues to wreak havoc against area sporting events. On Tuesday, both the track and field and golf meets were postponed due to the cold and rainy conditions.

The Mt. Pleasant girls? golf team was scheduled to take on Fairfield at Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club. That meet has been pushed back one week to Tuedsay, April 10. The time is still 4 p.m.

The Mt. Pleasant boys? track team was scheduled to run at Mediapolis High School. New London and Winfield-Mt. Union were also scheduled to be in action. That meet was postponed to a date to be determined later.

The middle school girls were slated to run at home on Tuesday in a meet that included all four other Southeast Conference teams, as well as Aldo Leopold, Edward Stone, Mid-Prairie and Ottumwa. That meet has also been postponed to a date to be determined later.

Today (Wednesday) was going to be the home opener for the Iowa Wesleyan softball team after their previous home opener was postponed. The Tigers were set to take on MacMurray College this weekend. That matchup has also been postponed to a date to be determined later.

There are still athletic events scheduled for Thursday, April 5, including two events in the town of Mt. Pleasant. The Iowa Wesleyan baseball team is scheduled for a doubleheader against MacMurray College at 1 p.m., and the Panther boys? golf team is scheduled to take on Washington at 4 p.m.
