FT. MADISON ? It wasn?t a cake walk for Winfield-Mt. Union?s Kaleb Hagge on Wednesday evening but he walked of Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course with a Southeast Iowa Super Conference championship.
Hagge and Central Lee?s Issal Moeller each finished the tournament at 75, sending the two competitors to a sudden death playoff. Hagge came out on top on the second hole to win the tournament.
Central Lee did take the overall team title, scoring a 330. W-MU finished at 337 for second place, and New London shot a 341 for third.
Hagge and Moeller had another W-MU golfer hot on their tail. Nolan Ross shot a 77 to finish third overall.
Jarod Kadel tied for 20th with a score of 90. Kash Rossiter shot a 95 to tie for 33rd place. Noah Freeman shot a 99 to finish in a tie for 46th, and Graham Hagge tied for 57th with a total of 106.
New London was led by the duo of Clayton Phillips and Justin Carter, both of which shot an 82. That helped them tie for sixth with Central Lee?s Jake Fraise.
Alex Dentlinger shot an 87 to finish in a tie for 15th. Gabe Carter tied for 20th with a 90. Javis Krieger tied for 28th with a 93, and Gavin Prottsman tied for 46th with final score of 99.
New London and W-MU will both be in Winfield on Friday, May 11, for the sectional tournament. That meet is set to begin at 10 a.m.
