Lowering blood sugar through exercise is the topic theme for the August Fresh Conversations health and wellness program. From dancing to housework to an evening stroll, activity keeps people healthy, which is especially true for people with diabetes. Exercise helps sugars (or carbohydrates) move more easily in and out of the blood vessels and muscles. This keeps blood sugar levels from getting too high and makes one feel more vibrant and energetic.
A local Fresh Conversations program will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 11 a.m. at the Fellowship Cup. The program will teach people more about the magic of being physically active. Local facilitator, Elise Klopfenstein, Clinical Dietitian from Henry County Health Center will lead the conversation.
